Does your anger make you feel like a bad mum?
Spring sale ends tonight at midnight
Does your anger make you feel like a bad mum?
In your worst moments - like a monster?
Maybe you’ve tried everything to do better. Read the books. Listened to the podcasts. Looked for the “right” scripts to repair with your child.
And yet… the explosions still happen. Followed by that familiar wave of shame.
If this resonates, you’re not alone.
Sophie’s story
Sophie came to me believing she was an “angry” mother - someone who might damage her child beyond repair.
She had imagined herself as calm and patient with her longed-for baby. But after the birth, she felt physically broken and relentlessly overwhelmed. She tried harder and harder to be the “best” mum, absorbing advice from experts, psychologists and mumfluencers.
The problem was, there were too many rules. Too much pressure. Too many impossible expectations to get it ‘right’.
When her baby became a toddler, the tantrums felt unbearable. The bigger her child’s feelings became, the faster Sophie’s own emotions erupted - white-hot rage, followed by fear and shame.
Making sense together
As we slowly made sense of her anger together, something shifted.
Sophie discovered her rage wasn’t a personal failing. It was an understandable response to chronic overwhelm, impossible expectations, and never having been taught how to regulate intense emotions herself.
And perhaps most importantly - she realised she wasn’t alone.
I hear versions of Sophie’s story every day. And I want you to know this too:
Your anger is understandable.
You’re not bad or broken.
You may simply need more support, compassion and understanding.
